A few weeks ago I read a post by Hilary on her blog http://livingtowork-workingtolive.blogspot.co.uk/ (take a look - it's great) about the artist, print maker Mark Hearld. This started my creative juices going and curious, I looked him up on Pintrest. I love his work but whilst doing this search, I also found Angie Lewin, another talented artist and print maker - her work is heavily influenced by the natural world - lots of flowers and seed heads. So my book cover is loosely based on her ideas and images.
This photo is awful - it's from from my mobile - I dropped and smashed my camera - will have to go shopping for a new one!!

ReplyDeleteAh- thanks for your kind words. I like Angies work too, but once you know it you will find it everywhere. For me Mark ticks the boxes because he goes beyond flowers.

Hi Gillian, this book cover is so cool! I really like the fabrics you choose for the flowers and the leaves. I've been enjoying the quotes from your last couple of posts too :). Isn't it horrible breaking a camera (or having it stop working) when you have a blog? My camera broke last spring and I went through immediate withdrawal. I had to go to the store the very next weekend and find a new one. Your phone did a good job though (I still have an ancient flip phone).

Harney & Sons is an American tea company, so even though they make teas for Historic Royal Palaces in London, it is easy (and way cheaper!) for me to order from their website here in the U.S. They were also selling the teacup set that matches the Royal Palace tea (probably also because of their connection with Historic Royal Palaces).
